Machine Operator – Paper & Board

Location: Livingston, Scotland

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary & Benefits

• £28,000 – £30,000 (depending on experience)
• Annual bonus up to £800 (based on company performance)

Shift Pattern (37.5 hours per week)

• Morning Shift: Monday to Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm
• Afternoon Shift: Monday to Thursday, plus Saturday (8:00am–12:00pm or 6:00am–10:00am)
• Night Shift: Sunday to Thursday, 10:00pm – 6:00am
• 30-minute unpaid break per shift

The factory operates continuously from Sunday night through to Friday day shift, with regular overtime available on Saturdays.

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an Machine Operator to join a busy and fast-paced paper and board manufacturing environment in Livingston. This role plays a key part in ensuring materials are handled efficiently and production runs smoothly.

You will support day-to-day operations, maintain high standards of safety and quality, and contribute to the overall performance of the site.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
• Handle and move paper and board materials across the site
• Support production lines to maintain workflow
• Carry out quality checks and report any issues
• Complete production and safety documentation accurately
• Follow all health & safety procedures and site regulations
• Maintain a clean and organised working environment

Requirements

• Previous experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment (preferred)
• FLT licence desirable but not essential
• Strong work ethic and reliability
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Good attention to detail
• Willingness to work rotating shifts
