When darkness falls, young people in residential placements who are recovering from severe trauma often experience heightened vulnerability and anxiety. They do not need a supervisor checking a box; they require a calm, protective, and reassuring presence to make them feel safe throughout the night.

Randstad Care is currently expanding our core workforce bank across the Pontypridd area to support upcoming Local Authority care packages. We are searching for resilient, dependable night support staff to deliver essential overnight care, oversee safeguarding routines, and ensure the residential environment is warm and organized.

This opening is a strong match for individuals who have previously worked as a Youth Worker, Support Worker, Therapeutic Support Worker, Family Support Worker, Residential Childcare Worker, Youth Mentor, or Key Worker.

How you will make a difference

• Safeguard Vulnerable Children: Maintain complete vigilance through the dark hours while upholding strict child protection standards

• Perform Night Operations: Complete essential night set tasks, routine safety checks, and prep the home for the next day to ensure a smooth morning

• Maintain Accurate Records: Complete thorough paperwork and detailed logs to inform the daytime multidisciplinary care team

What you will bring

• Verified Background: At least 6 months of paid care experience within a UK residential, youth, or complex care setting

• Personal Integrity: A patient, non judgemental mindset with strong resilience during lone working waking night hours

• Driving Status: A full UK driving licence and access to a personal vehicle is highly desirable to access regional sites
