Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer (Night Shifts)

Location: Borehamwood

The Role

An established manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Night Shift Maintenance Engineer to support a high-precision production environment.
The role is fully nights and plays a key part in ensuring machinery reliability, minimising downtime, and supporting continuous improvement across site.
This is a hands-on position suited to an engineer comfortable working autonomously on nights while maintaining high safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across CNC and manufacturing equipment
Respond to breakdowns and perform fault-finding to minimise downtime
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic faults
Support continuous improvement and reliability initiatives
Ensure all work complies with health & safety procedures, including isolations and permits
Maintain accurate maintenance records and contribute to root cause analysis

Equipment & Environment

About You

Proven experience in a manufacturing or precision engineering environment
Relevant engineering qualification (e.g., Indentured Apprenticeship, NVQ Level 3) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-Skilled Engineering.
Strong mechanical background with electrical fault-finding capability
PPM and Breakdown/Reactive maintenance experience
Experience assembling complex mechanical assemblies.
Experience optimising processes and procedures to improve output.
Experience operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting machinery.
Experience maintaining CNC and automated machinery
Comfortable working independently on a night shift
Recognised engineering qualification (mechanical, electrical or multi-skilled)
