Warehouse Operative – Temporary Contract

Pay Rate: £15.30 per hour

We are currently recruiting a Temporary Warehouse Operative to join a well-established industrial operation based in Elstree. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for temporary work within a warehouse or industrial environment. Full training is provided.

This role would suit a reliable, hands-on individual who is comfortable working in a physical, fast-paced environment and is keen to learn new skills.

Shift Pattern

The role operates across multiple fixed shift options, based on business requirements:

• Early Shift: 7:00 am – 3:00 pm (Monday to Friday)
• Day Shift: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm (Monday to Friday)
• Late Shift: 10:00 am – 6:00 pm (Monday to Friday)
• Night Shift: 9:00 pm – 6:00 am (Monday to Thursday, 2 weeks on / 2 weeks off)

Shift allocation will be discussed during the recruitment process. Flexibility to work different shifts is preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out general warehouse and operational duties within an industrial environment.
• Support daily warehouse activities to meet shift targets.
• Follow health & safety procedures, site rules, and standard operating processes.
• Load, unload, move, and handle goods safely and efficiently.
• Perform basic quality checks to ensure standards are met.
• Report faults, damages, or delays to supervisors or team leaders.
• Maintain cleanliness, organisation, and safety of work areas.
• Complete basic paperwork, logs, or checklists as required.
• Work effectively as part of a shift-based team.
• Assist with general site duties and support other departments when required.
• Attend training sessions, inductions, and safety briefings.

Skills & Experience Required

• GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above (or equivalent).
• Interest in warehouse or industrial work.
• Previous warehouse, factory, retail, hospitality, or similar experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
• Good attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Reliable, punctual, and safety-focused.
• Able to work independently and as part of a team.
• Physically able to complete manual handling and stand for long periods (training provided).
• Flexible towards shifts and operational requirements.
