Night Security Officer - London Based Permanent Opportunity
A prestigious central London legal institution is seeking a professional, vigilant and customer-focused Security Officer to join its in-house security team. This role plays a key part in maintaining the safety, security and smooth operation of a historic estate used by residents, staff, tenants and visitors.
Location: London (WC1R)
Salary: £31,830 per annum
Contract Type: Full-Time
Start Date: ASAP
Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off, Night shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and controlling pedestrian and vehicular access across the estate
- Monitoring residents, tenants, staff, visitors and contractors
- Operating CCTV, access control, fire, lift and intruder alarm systems
- Conducting regular foot patrols to ensure buildings and grounds are secure
- Opening and closing gates at prescribed times
- Investigating and responding to incidents, escalating to management and emergency services where required
- Issuing and managing security keys and reporting any discrepancies
- Maintaining accurate incident, visitor and shift logs
- Handling lost and found property
- Answering telephones and dealing with enquiries professionally and courteously
- Receiving and processing post and parcels outside normal business hours
- Acting as a bank escort when required
- Processing card payments and reconciling accounts at the end of shift
- Ensuring effective handovers between shifts
About You
You will be calm under pressure, proactive and able to work both independently and as part of a team in a professional environment.
Essential Requirements
- Valid SIA Front Line Door Supervisor licence
- Excellent written and spoken English
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Good decision-making ability and attention to detail
- Comfortable undertaking foot patrols, including stairs
- IT literate (Microsoft Word, email, and security-related systems)
Desirable (training provided)
- SIA Public Space Surveillance (CCTV) licence
- First Aid at Work or Emergency First Aid qualification
