Rolling Mill & Slitting Line Setter / Rolling Mill Operator / Slitting Line Operator / Machine Setter – West Bromwich

People Solutions are currently recruiting for a Rolling Mill & Slitting Line Setter – West Bromwich to join our well-established client based in West Bromwich. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled operator looking for a long-term role with the potential to become permanent. This role would also be suitable for candidates with experience as a Rolling Mill Operator, Slitting Line Operator, or Machine Setter.

Shifts

• Various shifts available – Days and Nights

Rates of Pay

• £13.00 – £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)
• Additional night shift allowance

Day-to-Day Duties

As a Rolling Mill & Slitting Line Setter, your duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Setting up and operating rolling mill and roll/coil-fed slitting machinery in line with production specifications
• Monitoring machine performance and adjusting settings to maintain product quality
• Carrying out routine inspections to ensure products meet required standards
• Performing basic maintenance and troubleshooting minor machine issues
• Reading and interpreting technical drawings and work instructions
• Ensuring tooling is correct and within tolerance for job specifications
• Adhering to all health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and safe workspace
• Accurately completing all required production documentation

Essential Skills

To be successful as a Rolling Mill & Slitting Line Setter, you will need:

• Previous experience operating rolling mill or roll forming machinery
• Strong mechanical knowledge and problem-solving skills
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings and measurements
• Good understanding of manufacturing health and safety practices
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Desirable Experience

• Previous experience within a similar manufacturing or production environment

Training Provided
