Ground Force Talent, part of the CWS Group, is currently recruiting multiple GSE Mechanics and HGV Mechanics for a leading airport ground support operation at Gatwick Airport.

This is an excellent opportunity to join a busy and expanding engineering team responsible for maintaining the specialist vehicles and equipment that support aircraft operations across one of the UK's busiest airports.

We are keen to speak with experienced GSE Engineers, HGV Technicians, Plant Fitters, PSV Technicians, Agricultural Engineers and Commercial Vehicle Technicians seeking a long-term career within the aviation sector.

The Role

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of Ground Support Equipment (GSE) and specialist airport vehicles, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of airport activities.

Equipment may include:

• Aircraft pushback tractors and tugs
• Baggage handling equipment
• Passenger steps
• Ground power units
• Airside support vehicles
• Specialist airport machinery and equipment

Key responsibilities include:

• Planned preventative maintenance (PPM)
• Mechanical and electrical fault finding
• Repairs, servicing and inspections
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective actions
• Breakdown response and emergency repairs
• Completing maintenance records and documentation
• Ensuring all work is completed safely and in line with airport regulations

About You

We are looking for candidates with experience in:

• Ground Support Equipment (GSE)
• HGVs and commercial vehicles
• Plant machinery
• PSV vehicles
• Agricultural machinery
• Heavy mechanical equipment

You will ideally possess:

• Strong mechanical fault-finding skills
• Electrical diagnostic experience
• Experience carrying out maintenance and repairs independently
• A proactive, reliable and safety-focused approach

Desirable

• Previous experience working on airport GSE equipment
• Airside or aviation engineering experience

Requirements

Due to the airport environment, applicants must be able to:

• Obtain and maintain an airside security pass
• Provide a full 5-year employment history
• Pass a criminal record check
• Hold a full UK driving licence
