Reed Talent Solutions is proud to be partnering with a well-established and growing food manufacturing business in Batley to recruit a skilled Night Shift Maintenance Engineer. This opportunity would suit an electrically biased, multi-skilled engineer who enjoys working autonomously on nights and thrives in a fast-paced FMCG production environment. You’ll play a critical role in maintaining production efficiency through effective fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance, with excellent earning potential through overtime.

The Role

As a Night Shift Maintenance Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out reactive and planned preventative maintenance (PPM) across the site
  • Electrical fault finding on 3-phase systems and PLCs
  • Diagnosing and repairing breakdowns to minimise production downtime
  • Supporting continuous production during night operations
  • Working a 4 on / 4 off night shift pattern

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Maintenance Engineer or Multi-Skilled Engineer
  • An electrical bias with strong fault-finding capability
  • Hands-on experience with 3-phase electrics and PLCs
  • Basic mechanical skills (general maintenance, repairs, strip-downs)
  • 18th Edition qualification (advantageous but not essential)
  • A commutable distance to Preston
