Working Hours: Night Shift 11pm - 8am 

About the RoleWe are seeking a proactive and hands-on Night Shift Supervisor to join our busy and fast-paced operation in Birmingham. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will play a key role in supervising the night shift, ensuring operational efficiency, maintaining high safety standards, and supporting the wider team.

This role is ideal for someone with previous pallet network experience who is looking to develop their leadership skills, with the opportunity to progress into a Shift Manager position over time.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Shift Manager with the day-to-day running of the night shift.
  
  
• Supervise warehouse and operational staff to ensure productivity and service standards are met.
  
  
• Ensure freight is handled safely, accurately, and within network deadlines.
  
  
• Operate a Counterbalance Forklift Truck (FLT) where required.
  
  
• Monitor and maintain compliance with health and safety procedures.
  
  
• Use warehouse and transport management systems accurately and effectively.
  
  
• Assist with staff training, performance, and operational support.
  
  
• Identify and resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption.
  
  
• Promote a positive, safety-first culture across the team.
  
  

Essential Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or transport operation.
  
  
• Ideally, previous experience working within a pallet network environment.
  
  
• Valid Counterbalance FLT licence.
  
  
• Good understanding of warehouse or transport management systems.
  
  
• Strong organisational and communication skills.
  
  
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  
  
• A hands-on approach with a commitment to high standards of health and safety.
  
  

Desirable Skills

• Experience leading or mentoring warehouse teams.
  
  
• Knowledge of pallet network processes and KPIs.
  
  
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
